The speed Is not shown, or is incorrect
The Saphe Link app calculates speed based on the phone's GPS, and this places some demands on the accuracy of the data provided by the phone's GPS. If they become sufficiently inaccurate, they will be completely excluded from the calculation. If the accuracy of the GPS is not sufficient, you may find that:
- The speed jumps up and down
- Is more than 3-5 km higher or lower than the car's speedometer
- The speed is not updated continuously
- The speed is shown as dashes "--"
This can mean that you do not get alarms, or that you get false alarms, so it is especially important to be aware of.
There can be many reasons why data from the GPS is inaccurate or missing, so here are some of the most common causes and solutions to GPS problems on phones.
Are you using Android Auto?

Are you using Apple CarPlay?
If your car has Apple CarPlay, and you're experiencing the speed getting incorrect as soon as you connect the cable, it's a problem in the cars software. Typically we see that the shown speed is about 20-30 km/h too high.
We have seen the problem on several cars (especially Ford) and the only solution is to contact carshop and get them to update your Apple CarPlay.
